Creating better performance!

You’re working on your mindset proactively and breaking down your beliefs and self-imposed limitation.

But the way you think, the way you feel, and the choices you make are also ALL heavily influenced by the function of your organs and organ systems…

So why aren’t you working proactively to support your organs and create better performance?

There are 37 thousand billion things going on every single second in your wondrous body. Knowing how to support these processes to work as well as possible is an intrinsic part of your personal performance strategy for business and life.

Your organs are the powerhouse of your entire system; how well they are OR are not working is absolutely fundamental. Every second, they’re working to:

-Break down and digest your food

-Clean up your cellular waste

-Produce your energy

-Balance your hormones

-Build new cells for you

-And so much more!

When one (or more) of these systems isn’t functioning optimally, it will have a ripple effect on your emotions, the way you think and on your behaviour AND thus on your performance.

And let me be clear, this is not a medical issue (thankfully), this is about subtle levels of imbalance that collectively undermine your ability to be at your best as often as possible.

For example, let’s say you’re not digesting your food properly. This can lead to feeling bloated, to experiencing irritable bowel type symptoms and even to nutrient deficiencies, which can then lead on to lower energy levels, hormone imbalances of varying degrees, and poorer concentration. This all adds up to reduced capacity to perform at the level you need to be at in your life and business.

Or let’s say you have a body that is slower to process and removed waste products and so, as a result, they build up in your system. This can slow the body’a ability to produce energy in your cells and lead to low-grade inflammation, which can then trigger all sorts of symptoms such as fatigue, brain fog and even low-grade pain. None of these leave you firing on all biological cylinders!

These are just two examples of how subtle organ imbalances and lowered biological function can affect the way you think, feel, and behave AND so negatively impact your performance. And unfortunately, these imbalances are becoming more and more common.

So, if you want to be at the top of your game, to perform at your very best, it’s time to start proactively supporting your organs and organ systems.

Now, of course, all the usual things apply such as drinking plenty of water; eating the rainbow, moving more, sleeping well, reducing stress and so on.

But these are also very generic.

If you want to get super strategic and build your biological needs into your plan then looking at your genomic blueprint is the best way forward.

Genomics is the study of your genes and their interaction with your environment. And it is changing the future of health and medicine. Variations in your genome (DNA) are what make each you unique and they have significant impacts on your life via their influence on how well your body can meet the demands of your life. Whilst one gene variant can make a difference, most chronic diseases result from the interplay between multiple common variants (called SNPs but I refer to them as “glitches” with clients) and environmental factors such as food and lifestyle choices.

This is what makes genomics so powerful. It can help you to understand how your individual genes respond to different environmental factors and then give you the information you need to make specific, targeted choices that will support optimal function and allow you to really reach your fullest potential.

For example, a recent study showed that people with a certain SNP/glitch (the MTHFR mutation for those of you who like details) are at a higher risk of nutrient deficiencies, particularly with B vitamins. This is because this gene is responsible for converting these vitamins into their active form in the body.

So, if you have this particular gene variant, you might need to supplement with specific B vitamins and/or eat foods that are rich in these vitamins (such as leafy green vegetables) to make sure your body is getting what it needs. And if you aren’t doing that this could be a significant factor in how tired you feel, your brain fog, nasty PMS symptoms and various other things undermining your performance.

This is just one example of how genomics can help you to understand your unique biological needs and then make specific, targeted choices to support optimal health. Check out my partner LifeCodeGX for more details of what we can look at: https://www.lifecodegx.com/
